Jerwood Makers Open 2019

Jerwood Makers Open, now in its seventh edition, is a biennial opportunity that recognises and promotes the significance of making and materials within contemporary visual arts.#

This exhibition showcases new works and installations in textiles, ceramics, wood and metal, by five contemporary artists. The artists were selected from over 300 applicants in response to a national call for proposals from Uk-based makers and collaborators.

The award and exhibition, which will tour to venues throughout the UK, feely allows makers to develop their creative ideas, constituting a fresh and exciting direction in their work. Each artist has received a bursary to support experimentation and the making of new work for this exhibition.
