Ace Arts is active in celebrating the achievements of women to provoke political ideas and issues through the medium of art. As our online and offline worlds are increasingly saturated with sexual imagery we aim to investigate society’s collective perception of womxn’s bodies today and how it is beginning to shift.
The current crisis is important in constructing changemakers. We challenge the current climate and call to action women from across the world to use art as activism to drive gender parity.
We are hosting a dynamic protest poster workshop using collage and painting to engage conversation, evoke positive change and inspire powerful activism. We will explore the female condition, airing issues close to people’s hearts to show that we can make a difference together.
Guided by us you will work on layering collaged images and text ‘spilling’ paint to represent your views and give them a visual voice.
This will be a drop in session over 3 hours where participants have the opportunity to take away a poster individually, or contribute to the event exhibition and add to a collaborative banner. The work will be displayed in the gallery for International Women’s Day 2019.
Radical womxn and free thinkers of all ages and abilities are warmly invited to attend. This workshop is all inclusive of LGBT+ and women.
