About
Loughborough University holds an exciting and diverse art collection. Situated across campus grounds and hidden away in department buildings, you will find painting, print, public sculpture and furniture in a range of styles dating from the 1950s to the present day.
Unlocking The Collection brings together a selection of pieces from the university collection containing work by notable artists as well as former students and staff. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the collection, with a view to encourage students, staff and the public to take a step further and acknowledge its complexity, history and contemporary value in order to promote discussion surrounding its development and future. It provides a space to question, debate and challenge the strengths and limitations of a university collection that continues to expand.
An exhibition opening will take place on Monday 12 August 4-6pm, at the Martin Hall Exhibition Space. Exhibition continues 12-23 August. To find out more go to the LU Arts website.
