Two Queens is proud to announce our next major exhibition, a solo project by Viktor Timofeev, opening 3rd of March 2017.

If I could go to sleep for days, would you count the hours? (Sazarus 4) is the latest iteration of the Sazarus project by Viktor Timofeev. Sazarus is an ongoing string of exhibitions, events and works that started in 2015, revolving around an “expanded” computer game developed by Timofeev. The game functions as an obscured part of the working process, used to generate the installations, videos, performances and texts that make up the ongoing project.

The scenes that currently make up the Sazarus game involve a generative alphabet and a piece of text written using said alphabet; an infinitely long Sudoku puzzle game; a terraforming station on Mars; and a group of cockroaches that follow a script based on timers. Timofeev frequently pushes personal experiences into fictional frameworks, blending the everyday with the unfamiliar. In the fourth iteration presented at Two Queens, Sazarus will materialize as an installation involving a mural and an interactive virtual reality animation.

This exhibition is part of a programme of exhibitions and events at Two Queens across 2016-18 kindly supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Leicester City Council and De Montfort University.

Opening Times:
Thursday – Saturday, 12-6pm
(and by appointment.)
