Create your own beautiful handmade book, in a rural setting, meeting new artists and makers.
This day-long workshop will take you through the different stages of making a multi-section hand bound book with hard cover, including folding, making endpapers, stitching, spine lining, covering and casing in. Led by professional printmaker, book artist and bookbinder Lina Avramidou.
You will learn about paper grain, bookbinding cloths, and different bookbinding tools. You will take home your finished book which can be used as a sketchbook, notebook or to incorporate your artwork or writing. All materials will be provided and no previous bookmaking experience is required.

This workshop is the first of our new Outdoor Institute of Art: Wild Sharing workshops, where our unique location and communal approach brings like-minded people together for peer to peer learning, informal skill and knowledge sharing, and provides both a creative and social opportunity.

Sudborough Green Lodge
Sudborough Green Lodge is located in the centre of a meadow at the heart of Fermyn Woods, it is accessible from a 2-mile stretch of forest track. The cottage is centrally heated via a log burner, with plenty of wood and kindling available on site.
Car: Drive to the A6116 (between Corby and junction 12 of the A14). The turning for Harley Way is next to the entrance to Fermyn Woods Country Park. The entrance to the Lodge is a Forestry Commission gate on Harley Way, opposite and along from Gliding Club.
Train: The nearest railway station is Corby, to arrange a lift to or from the station please contact Sophie (details below).
