About
The forest can be a place where people can escape; a place to retreat where they can think freely. It can also be a place where they can explore a part of the themselves without others watching.
Join Alec Stevens in a search to find evidence of the activities occurring in the forest, find out how a forest functions for a contemporary visitor, and reveal how we as a society have used this most primal of spaces.
Alec will share his practice through the basics of wood carving as well as creating time and space to reflect on and process the importance of forested spaces within modern culture. Participants will make a wooden object that directly links with their connection with the forest and collectively create a series of objects rich with history and story.
