Curator/Programme Manager

Aspex is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a passion for contemporary visual art, experience of working with artists and a ‘can do’ attitude to join its committed team.  This is a crucial role with key responsibility for the development, organisation and delivery of all aspects of the exhibition and residency programmes, together with the provision of support for Aspex’s Artists Associates.

Aspex is a creative hub for the region – supporting emerging artists and revealing the creative process. Located in the Vulcan Building at Gunwharf Quays – a premium retail outlet, with restaurants and cafes on the waterfront at Portsmouth Harbour – the gallery also delivers its programme and special projects at other sites in and around the city. The gallery is a training organisation which like the artists it works with, provides development and training opportunities for all of its staff.

The successful candidate taking up the post of Curator/Programme Manager will be joining Aspex at an extremely exciting period, following its recent capital development and confirmation of ACE NPO funding through to 2022, and will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s further development.
