Art School Co-ordinator

Towner is seeking someone with demonstrable experience in supporting and communicating with schools, other educational settings and community groups, who understands current gallery education practice and with a keen interest in creative learning. This new post will allow Towner to develop the current offer in exciting ways.

Towner’s Learning programme, now known as Art School, reached 55,000 learners of all ages in 2018 to 2019. Art School is a varied programme of opportunities for artists to extend their practice through collaboration, residencies, talks and workshops. Art School positions Towner as a site of research, exploring how public galleries can and should adapt in a time of rapid change for communities. Art School will provide and stimulate new ideas in dialogue with artists at all stages of their career.

Towner has an established schools programme that regularly reaches 80–100 local schools a year, which includes exhibition tours, artist-led workshops, and CPD opportunities for teachers and educators.
