Artist Educator in Animation wanted for One to One Tuition

Artworks, The Everybody School of Art is a not for profit, artist led, community arts organisation in Halifax, West Yorkshire. We provide opportunities for people to develop their artistic skills and exercise their creative potential in order to achieve positive change for people and communities. Our work takes place from our art school with letterpress, printmaking and ceramics facilities, our exhibition space, artist studios, out in the community and now online.

Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced artist educator with a good knowledge of animation who can support the creative development of a student with special educational needs on a one to one basis.

The artist educator will support the student to pursue their interest in animation by helping them to learn skills and techniques relating to the subject and develop independent projects. They will develop a suitable creative learning programme responding to the needs and interests of the student and deliver it on a one to one basis from a dedicated studio space within Artworks.

Suitable applicants will have had experience working with young people to develop their artistic skills and support their personal development. They will have experience with special educational needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder, be comfortable and confident delivering sessions on a one to one basis, and have expertise in animation and an enthusiasm for the subject.
