Arts Coordinator

Are you passionate about the positive effects which art can have, particularly on those recovering from illness? There is a vacancy within the Arts in Health Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals for an enthusiastic and well organised Arts Coordinator.

The role will focus on the project management of visual arts installations across the Trust, though you may also assist with other aspects of the department’s work. The role is based primarily at the Northern General Hospital although there will be working across all Hospital sites and you will liaise closely with colleagues in many other departments including Estates and with the Hospitals Charity who fund much of the work. We are flexible in terms of work pattern.

The role of the Arts In Health service is to deliver the Trusts Arts in Health programme which aims to improve the health care environment for patients, visitors and staff through the use of all forms of visual and performing arts. The successful candidate will have experience of project management and an appreciation for the arts. They need to be proactive and highly motivated, be a real team player and have excellent organisation and communication skills. A background in the arts would be beneficial as would experience of working within a hospital environment.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
