The Hepworth Wakefield opened in 2011 to public and critical acclaim. The gallery brings together major works by Barbara Hepworth, alongside Wakefield’s collection of modern British art and a diverse range of historical and contemporary exhibitions.
In July 2017 we were chosen as Art Fund Museum of the Year, and we value all our staff and their role in driving this success.
We are looking for an Assistant Curator to support, contribute to and deliver a world-class programme of exhibitions and public events and to contribute to the care, research and development of the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection and the Hepworth Gift.
You will work closely with the Chief Curator, Curator and Programme Team to provide strategic administrative, research and practical support to help develop and deliver the exhibitions and public programme at The Hepworth Wakefield and The Calder.
You will support the team in the professional operation and delivery of all aspects of exhibition organisation and installations and assist in producing engaging and accessible copy for exhibition interpretation, press releases, learning material and web site / downloadable resources, and input into the development and delivery of the public programme.
If you are a highly motivated, flexible and adaptable individual with experience of developing and delivering exhibitions and public programme events, we would be very interested to hear from you.
