Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2017: RECENT GRADUATES

Applications are welcome from final year students and recent graduates from UK art schools.

We ask for a portfolio of 6 documents to be submitted online through our website. A panel of selectors will then consider the material submitted. The selection process is organised in two stages. The panel look first at the virtual documentation of artwork, excerpts of moving image work and read proposals for installation and performance. A number of these works will be shortlisted for second round.

Unsuccessful applicants will be notified in early March 2017.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted and arrangements made for the collection of their work. The second round of selection will take place in April 2017. Selectors will consider shortlisted works first hand. Selected works will be stored, with the artists’ agreement, until the first exhibition tour. All works not selected for the final show will be returned to the artist. A specially invited panel of artists including Elizabeth Price, George Shaw and another to be announced shortly will select the 2017 exhibition. Receipt of applications will be acknowledged by an email from the online submissions system. No correspondence will be entered into with individuals. Please read the leaflet on our website carefully and keep it for reference.
