Business Coordinator (Exhibition Services)

Spike Island is a dynamic arts centre that supports, produces and presents contemporary art and culture. We engage audiences in our work through a diverse programme of exhibitions and interdisciplinary events; and we directly support artists through new commissions and critically-engaged artist development opportunities that widen access to our programme and facilities.

To support this mission, we offer bespoke production and exhibition services, and provide subsidised studios and co-working spaces for artists, designers and artist-led organisations based in the South West. We also provide office spaces for creative businesses and host the UWE Bristol’s Fine Art programmes.

The role:

Spike Island Exhibition Services include audio-visual equipment hire and installation, film production and post-production services, and fabrication. Our team has worked nationally and internationally with artists, arts organisations, galleries and museums right across the arts and heritage sectors. Our expertise has enabled a broad range of artists to develop and deliver ambitious moving image projects.

We are now investing in Exhibition Services to expand the team and grow the business. We plan to further develop our outstanding industry reputation and long-standing history as a leading audio visual service provider with significant local, national and international experience.

The Business Coordinator (Exhibition Services) (part time) will have an integral role in the day to day coordination of the planning, administration and delivery of Exhibition Services to support the effective realisation of Spike Island’s business plan. The successful candidate will have a strong business administration and coordination knowledge and experience, but will also need to display effective marketing and customer service skills, dealing with sales leads, maintaining strong customer relationships, and marketing and promoting our services offer. We’re looking for an ambitious person who can match their previous work experience with a passion for the visual arts and working with artists, galleries and museums.

The Business Coordinator (Exhibition Services) position is offered part time (28 hours per week), £20,572 p.a. pro rata.

This is a re-advertised position, previous applicants need not apply.
