About Primary:

Primary will be joining Arts Council England’s National Portfolio in April 2018, a great step forward for a rapidly developing contemporary visual arts organisation.

Primary is an artist-led space that supports creative research and develops new ways of engaging audiences, offering dedicated artists’ studios alongside more flexible spaces within & outside the building, where artists from around the world can meet & work in the heart of Nottingham. Primary is a place where artists & audiences can create, share, experiment with & learn about contemporary visual art through an ambitious programme of events & activities.

We host 40 artists, 4 independent galleries, the Small Food Bakery & Garden Projects. Primary has quickly become established as a key venue in the visual arts ecology of the City and Region, developed National & International collaborations, & become a focal point for the communities of Radford & Lenton.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced consultant to work with the Board and Staff team to help us develop our ambitions into a coherent business plan for the period 2018 – 22. The process will start with a Development Day with Board and Staff in early September, which the consultant will facilitate, from which the consultant will prepare the outline of a plan, and the process by which the final plan will be developed, no later than early December. We anticipate the consultant will have in the region of 5 paid days in total.
