Capital Project Manager

S1 Artspace is recruiting a Capital Project Manager to support its ambitions to develop Park Hill Art Space – a £21m capital project for the Grade II* Park Hill estate in Sheffield – the largest listed structure in Europe and exceptional example of Brutalist architecture.

For the past 2.5 years, S1 has developed a plan to relocate and expand its organisation to establish Park Hill Art Space, a new national flagship for arts, culture and heritage. By 2022, S1 aims to have regenerated the 7200sqm Duke Street block of Park Hill into an international arts venue with a distinct heritage offer for the production, exhibition and research of outstanding art and culture. Its vision is to enable new ways of engaging with art, society and culture through a programme that initiates cross-art form collaborations to generate original artistic work. In addition, Park Hill Art Space will provide studios for artists and creative businesses, a research institute, heritage archive, learning space, auditorium, live/work flats, workshops, heritage flats, independent café, shop and six-acre sculpture park.

To date £1.1m has been invested in the development of the project and the appointment of the Design Team is well underway. This is an exciting opportunity to join S1 Artspace and help shape and realise its vision for Park Hill and new role within Sheffield’s arts and cultural community.
