A unique opportunity has arisen to lead on collection care, conservation and documentation at one of England’s finest 18th century country houses. Harewood House is an accredited museum and nationally designated collection, and is the family seat of the Earl and Countess of Harewood.
Harewood House Trust seeks a self-motivated individual experienced in Collections Management and exhibitions, with a strong interest in historic and contemporary collections. They will contribute to the delivery of the Trust’s innovative exhibition programme, Business Plan and strategic objectives, deputising for the Head of Collections and Exhibitions as required.
This is an exciting time to work for Harewood House Trust, which has significantly expanded in the past two years to support a dynamic strategy for the long-term benefit of Harewood and its collections.
The main purpose of the role is:
- To provide collections management and registration leadership and advice to Harewood House Trust (HHT) on Harewood’s collections and exhibitions programme, contributing to the delivery of the Trust’s Business Plan and strategic objectives
- To develop and deliver collections management policy to ensure that HHT meets its legal and ethical requirements and maintains its reputation for excellence as an Accredited Museum
- To support and develop the Collections team to deliver the Trust’s Business Plan and strategic objectives in relation to Harewood’s collection
