College Manager

Clay College’s mission is to develop highly-skilled, self-sufficient and diverse makers by teaching practical studio pottery techniques. By doing so, we endeavour to maintain and grow the status of British studio ceramics.

The College, now in its third year, offers a 2-year, full-time Diploma course for 14 students; evening and weekend courses, and Masterclasses delivered by highly experienced and internationally renowned potters. In addition, the College runs a Gallery showcasing the work of leading studio potters and the work of current students.

We wish to appoint a part-time College Manager working 25 hours per week.

Reporting to the Chair of Trustees, you will be responsible for the College’s administration and financial operations, and the successful delivery of all of our courses and events. In addition, you will oversee the management of the Gallery.

You will be responsible for 4 part-time members of staff (Course Director, Course Tutor, Technical Tutor and Gallery Assistant) and visiting tutors.

You will need to be a highly organised and have 5 years+ experience of managing a student or customer or membership focused service.

The salary offered is £24,850 (£35,000 FTE).
