Commercial Development Manager

With over 1,600 square metres of light-filled gallery spaces, The Hepworth Wakefield is the largest purpose-built exhibition space outside London. Since opening in May 2011 to public and critical acclaim we have welcomed over 1.8 million visitors. The gallery brings together work from Wakefield’s art collection, exhibitions by contemporary artists and rarely seen works by Barbara Hepworth. In July 2017 we were chosen as Art Fund Museum of the Year 2017 and we value all our staff and their commitment to driving this success.

The Commercial Development Manager will drive the business development strategy for The Hepworth Wakefield and develop new income streams to support our ambitious and innovative artistic programme of exhibitions and events. You will manage existing business, including the catering contract, venue hire and public programme events, ensuring that customer expectations are exceeded and KPIs are met and lead negotiations and tendering exercises for commercial contracts.

You will manage budgets, reporting on commercial performance and achievement of KPIs to senior management and the Trading Board so you need to be a credible communicator at all levels. You will need significant experience of managing and developing teams and stewarding commercial partners.

If you are a confident, enthusiastic and results-driven individual with a proven track record of developing new business and delivering significant income growth preferably gained within the visual arts or cultural section, we would be keen to hear from you. For more information on how to apply please visit www.hepworthwakefield.org/our-story/job-vacancies
