The Collection and Usher Gallery is looking for an artist to design a new series of contemporary art flags for the Usher Gallery, in response to the idea of 100 years of votes for some women and the beginning of the ongoing journey towards equality. To mark this important anniversary, we are inviting proposals that look at the broad and universal themes of equality and civil and political rights and what these mean today. There are six flag poles on top of the 20th century Usher Gallery and as part of our contemporary art programme we commission a rolling programme of contemporary art flags. For this iteration of the project we are also working with Lincoln BIG to place a further 4 flags around the city of Lincoln.
