Delivery Artist (Craft/Young People)

Location: Artcore Derby
Position: x6 2hr workshops delivered once every two weeks

Artcore is looking for experienced artists to deliver a block of 6 sessions for its Innocence and Expression programme.

Innocence and Expression is a BBC Children in Need funded programme especially designed for young people Up to 18 years old. Innocence and expression programme is inclusive; there are no barriers to access such as academic attainment, culture, language, faith, ethnicity or disability. And as such, our programme will empower participants to gain an increased sense of confidence and raised aspirations whilst making constructive and affirmative differences to all young people’s lives. These sessions are held every other Saturday during term time (2pm – 4pm).

You must be able to demonstrate how you could use mosaic, clay and drawing to engage young and support their learning. We envisage that this will be a collaborative project, whereby young will act as curators or facilitators of their own learning. Thus, we mean that the artists must be willing to be flexible and adaptable to the young’s needs.

We would like to hear from artists working in the following, but not limited to:

With a specific focus on creating a final, collaborating piece with children.

Artist Specification:
You should be able to demonstrate experience of leading workshops with vulnerable young people.
You will be responsible for your own tax, national insurance and Public Liability insurances.
You must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate (within the last two years
Driving license and access to a car would be desirable but not essential
