Development Operations Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Development Operations Team, which facilitates the smooth working and success of the National Gallery’s Development Department. The Development Department raises income to support for the National Gallery and its activities, helping to maintain and enhance the Gallery’s world-class collection for the benefit of visitors from the UK and overseas.

The Operations Assistant is responsible for administrating the stewardship of National Gallery donors, including overseeing mailings and accurately recording information on the Development Department’s database. The post-holder has responsibility for processing departmental income and expenditure, and for keeping financial information up to date on the database. The role also provides administrative support to the Director of Development, overseeing arrangements and acting as a point of contact.

We are seeking a talented office administrator with experience of working on multiple projects and an ability to effectively prioritise a varied workload. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail and be skilled at dealing with financial information. In addition, the post-holder will have excellent communication skills and be confident when dealing with donors and senior National Gallery staff and trustees both in writing and in person.

This is a fixed term role for up to 12 months to cover the permanent post holder who is covering maternity leave.
