Exhibitions & Engagement Curator

This is a rare opportunity to join the collections team, in this important senior role and at a time of increasing investment in exhibitions and interpretation at Chatsworth.

You will be responsible for delivering exhibitions and displays across the House and Garden, and within the context of the extensive collections at Chatsworth. Ensuring public impact, fundraising and sponsorship opportunities are maximised and ensuring efficient delivery through management of project teams.

Whilst being able to work across all aspects of the Collection, you will have a particular interest in contemporary art, actively promoting its presence at Chatsworth. You will also take a lead on interpretation, working closely with other colleagues and departments, devising a creative and innovative approach.

You will be an experienced, graduate caliber curator from a museum or historic house environment, with a strong track record of delivering successful, ambitious exhibitions.

Able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, you will be a capable project and people manager with experience of managing budgets, undertaking research, working with artists and developing partnerships.

A creative, enthusiastic and methodical individual, with the ability to lead from the front, you will have a passion for audience engagement, and be driven by the delivery of fresh and exciting installations.

This is a full time post 37.5 hours per week generally Monday-Friday 9:00 – 17:30 with flexibility on evening and weekend work occasionally required.
