Formal Learning Programmer

Derby Museums is looking for an energetic and proactive Formal Learning Programmer with a strong sense of the role that culture, heritage and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) can play in the development of people’s skills, capacities and wellbeing.

Working with formal learning audiences the role will play a key part in enabling access to high quality cultural and life experiences supporting engagement with learning, inspiring and driving creativity, helping to bridge the skills gap and creating strong aspirations in the children and young people of Derby.

The role includes but is not limited to;

  • Devising and implementing engaging, high quality and relevant activities and programmes for formal learning audiences including primary/secondary/SEND schools, FE/HE providers, across Derby Museums sites.
  • Increasing engagement and the numbers of children and young people participating in our formal learning programmes, to support the development of cultural capital.
  • Working with a wide range of formal learning providers and partner organisations to ensure our programmes are relevant to local audiences and support the wider local and national strategies.

This role is based at the Museum & Art Gallery, but you will be required to work at any of our museums.
