Workshop artist/arts organisation

Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Cultural Education Partnership have developed a partnership programme, funded and supported by Stoke on Trent Opportunities Area and Arts Connect West Midlands to work with 8 schools in Stoke on Trent to deliver an artist in residence programme, delivering wrap around creative workshops in schools and community settings with the aim of reducing persistent absence and providing more opportunities for children and young people to engage with learning through arts and cultural activity. We  are looking for high quality experienced creative practitioners in a range of artistic fields to work in partnership.

We are recruiting up to 8 artists to help us deliver on the programme, who will report to programme managers Partners in Creative Learning and the programme steering group. 

Artform: 

The art form is open, but we are particularly interested in mixed/cross artform practice to enable the young people to experience a wide range of activities.

You will 

• Be experienced in delivery high quality artistic practice and understanding of process
• Be experienced in developing work and projects in partnership
• Have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
• Have experience of designing engaging workshops to deliver on learning outcomes
• Have experience of working in a school setting, with a good understanding of the current educational context
• Have experience of collecting evaluation data
• Skilled in reflection both individually and in groups
• Be passionate about the role of arts and creativity within education
• Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of partners

All practitioners will need to hold an enhanced DBS check and £5 million public liability insurance
