Responsible for the administration of the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (SCVA) art collections and artworks under its care, the Gallery Registrar co-ordinates and records all movement of works of art for exhibition; loans; conservation and storage across the whole organisation, ensuring high standards of care.
The SCVA is one of the most important public university art galleries in Britain. The extraordinary art collection includes works dating from prehistory to the late twentieth century from across the globe. There are a significant number of works by modern masters of European art such as Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore and Francis Bacon. The SCVA is also a venue for major exhibitions and has one of the largest temporary exhibitions spaces in the UK outside London. For further information please visit: scva.ac.uk
Applicants must be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification or experience), have proficient knowledge of museum databases and collections management systems, and have experience of arts administration including loan agreements and exhibition contracts.
