John Moores Painting Prize

The John Moore Painting Prize brings together the best in contemporary British painting right now.

Supporting artists from all over the UK – whether they’re undiscovered, emerging or established in their careers – the prize provides a platform for artists to inspire, disrupt and challenge the British painting art scene today.

Prizes

• The First Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of £25,000 and a solo display at the Walker Art Gallery.
• There are four further prizes of £2,500 and a Visitors Choice Prize of £2,020.
• We’re also excited to introduce the Emerging Artist Prize. Not only will the winner receive £2,500, plus premium art materials of the same value, they are also offered a residency and display at Colart along with some mentoring to support their artistic development.

All entries are judged anonymously over a two-stage selection process by our panel of judges. The competition will culminate with an exhibition held at the Walker Art Gallery.
