Learning & Engagement Manager is a fixed term maternity cover for a minimum of 9 months from October 2019. The position plays a vital role in delivering the wide range of inclusive activities available at RBSA Gallery from working with schools and community groups, to managing funded projects and organising adult workshops.
This role would suit a highly motivated individual who has a background in education, learning and engagement in the museum and gallery sector, together with a proven track record of developing new audiences through learning and engagement programmes, and an empathy with our work as a visual arts charity.
The successful candidate should have excellent project management skills with rigorous attention to detail, experience of working with a diverse range of participants and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Working closely with the RBSA staff team and membership, they should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a flexible approach, with an enthusiasm for all aspects of the role.
The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of inclusive exhibitions and learning programmes. The Society owns and runs the RBSA Gallery, located just off St Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter.
Working hours & Salary
The post is 3 days per week. Standard working hours are between Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.15 pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Paid hourly at £10.67 per hour for 23.25 hours per week, (equivalent to £21,460 per annum pro rata). Occasional paid overtime may be required.
