NCCD Associate Artist

The National Centre for Craft & Design (NCCD) is seeking creative and experienced artists/ makers to help deliver a new online Creative Learning Programme.

NCCD in Sleaford, Lincolnshire is the largest venue in England entirely dedicated to the exhibition, celebration and promotion of craft and design. NCCD showcases a renowned programme of high-quality temporary exhibitions each year, from the most innovative, challenging and accomplished artists to new and emerging talent. We offer enriching arts and cultural experiences for everyone through a dynamic multi-arts programme of exhibitions, festivals, events, performances, dance, community arts projects, retail and education initiatives.

While NCCD has been closed to the public since 24 March, NCCD’s programming team has been busy working from home developing new activities and initiatives to keep everyone creative during Covid-19. We are now looking to develop this further and work with selected Associate Artists to offer a new inspiring online Creative Learning Programme. We are inviting artists/ makers that span the creative arts, from craft and design to dance and media, to join NCCD’s Associate Artists.

We will commission Associate Artists to deliver online workshops, classes, courses and activities that engage with a wide range of participants, across all ages and abilities, within formal and informal education settings.

Selected Associate’s will reflect the communities and participants who engage with NCCD however, our priority is to reach and engage new audiences and people that are classed as ‘hard to reach’. This includes people with access and social needs or learning and behavioural difficulties; people that are rurally and/or socially isolated; children and young people learning outside mainstream education; and families. We are particularly keen to work with artists/ makers that span diverse cultural backgrounds, ages and abilities.
