Office Manager

Primary has recently joined the Arts Council England National Portfolio, and as we move into a new period of development, we seek to appoint an Office Manager to make an important contribution to the daily running of our organisation. This key role would suit someone with strong administration skills and experience, and a genuine interest in working within an organisation focused on supporting artistic research and production.

Primary is an artist-led space in Nottingham that supports creative research through artist studios and residencies, public exhibitions and events. Officially opened in 2012, Primary was set up by Nottingham Studios Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation established as a registered charity (in 2009), and has transformed a Victorian school into a centre for artistic production in the Midlands.

Through a continuity of ambition – from securing the building and establishing high quality artists studios, to developing new partnerships and shaping the international public programme – Primary has rapidly flourished into a key artist-led organisation in the region, supported by Nottingham City Council, Arts Council England and a range of grant funding from trusts and foundations.

Joining the Art Council England National Portfolio in April 2018, we are currently seeking to expand the staff team. The Office Manager will be a key role in a small, integrated staff team alongside the Director, Engagement Curator, and Artist Development Coordinator. This role will support the day-to-day delivery requirements of a busy office and studio building, including finance, building management, marketing, communications and wider programme support.

We are looking for someone with the strong administrative skills necessary for this role, and also the passion and commitment to contribute to the shared vision for Primary. The successful person will be organised and a confident communicator, with the ability to work under pressure and to operate flexible and cooperatively as part of the team. This is an exciting moment to join the organisation as it moves into a new phase of development.

Deadline for applications: Midnight, Thursday 29 March 2018
Interview date: Friday 6 April 2018
Salary: £21,400 (pro-rata) 2 days per week
