Open call for young and emerging disabled artists: No Jobs in the Arts

No Jobs in the Arts wants to shine a light on some of the amazing visual artists working in the East Midlands today. We are now taking entries for the fourth edition of the zine which will be produced in partnership with Attenborough Arts Centre. This special edition will seek to promote work by young and emerging disabled artists working in the East Midlands. The publication will be circulated to the arts industry throughout the region and presented online as a digital edition.

How to submit:

Send us:
● Up to five digital images of your visual art (including any artwork titles);
● A description of your practice (no more than 150 words);
● A brief explanation of any barriers you have faced whilst working as an artist in the East Midlands* (no more than 150 words);
● Basic contact information and any relevant links.

*We ask this solely in the interest of identifying common barriers facing applicants and adjusting our working practices accordingly. It will not form part of the selection process.

Eligibility criteria:
This opportunity is open to early-career disabled artists currently living, working or studying in the East Midlands. Attenborough Arts Centre follows the social model of disability. You do not have to be a blue badge holder or in receipt of disability benefits to be disabled.
