Project Documentation Assistant

Derby Museums are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Project Documentation Assistant to help to document and digitise our richly diverse image and ephemera collections. You will be working with a mix of materials including works on paper, glass and film so some experience of working with these collections will be essential.

This fixed-term, 6 month contract post forms part of the internationally significant Museum of Making project happening at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Derby Silk Mill. Across 18 hours per week you will be processing, conserving and digitising one of our largest collections in preparation for their recant into the Museum of Making ahead of its 2020 opening. This work is central to achieving our ambitious aim of making 100% of our collections accessible to visitors in the new museum.

If you’d like to be part of our team, helping us to create a lasting legacy of collections care and access, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit a completed application form and send to info@derbymuseums.org with ‘Project Documentation Assistant’ in the subject line.
