Public Programme Producer

New Art Exchange (NAE) is a leading national contemporary arts space in in the heart of an inner city neighbourhood in Nottingham, that celebrates the region’s cultural richness and diversity. We present an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and a vibrant public programme of events.

NAE is now seeking an experienced programming and audience development specialist to lead on the design and delivery of NAE’s public programme of events which will include workshops, talks and symposiums, live art commissions, festival days, community collaborations and high quality live performances (including music, dance and spoken word).

The Public Programme Producer should be knowledgeable about contemporary art, performance and culture with a flexible and hands-on approach. They should be passionate about opening access to art and culture to a wide range of audiences and they should be experienced in designing and delivering programmes of events for families and young people, community audiences (with a focus on BAME communities and those least engaged with the arts), disabled audiences and audiences highly engaged with the arts.

NAE creates accessible programmes through featuring world renowned artists, speakers and creative thinkers. These have included live art performances by artists such as Sethembile Msezane and Rachel Young, music by Rafiki Jazz, Zoe Rahman, Sura Susso and Debasmitta Bhattacharya, talks with writers and critics such as Ekow Eshun, Hannah Pool, Emma Dabiri, Kelechi Okafor and Nihal Arthanayake. NAE also delivers a rich programme of activity designed to engage its core neighbourhood communities including the hugely popular Melting Pot Food & Culture festival, and Craft & Culture Fair.
