Sculpture/Outdoor landmark commission

Cultural Journeys is a junior school based project that includes the creation of a small scale, permanent outdoor sculpture celebrating difference and diversity. The work can be made of any material and there are two possible places that the work can be sited. Site one, near a remembrance tree and site two is near an existing sculpture of the school logo of a wheel. More information and photos can be found on the homepage of our website – Cultural Journeys.

People Express is supporting the South Derbyshire based school to commission an innovative artist or company who can provide hands on workshops, taking children and parents from the idea stage to the creation of the work. We are open to your ideas and interpretations. We are looking for a friendly, high quality artist with participatory experience of working in a school setting.  The commission will be working with their Year 4 children aged 8-9 years old (3 classes).

Our budget is £2800 to include session delivery, VAT, travel and materials.
