New Art Exchange (NAE) is an internationally recognised creative space in the heart of inner city Nottingham dedicated to promoting excellence in contemporary culturally diverse arts. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced arts professional with a passion for contemporary art and audience engagement, to fulfil a year of maternity cover. The post is full time, however we also welcome applications for job shares.
The Touring Co-ordinator & Curatorial Assistant will support the Senior Curator/Director of Programmes in the planning and delivery of NAE’s exhibition and engagement programmes. Under the guidance of the Director of Programmes, the post holder will also lead on the delivery of NAE’s Touring programme with a specific focus on managing NAE’s Strategic Touring projects.
Curatorial Assistant duties include research, contribution of programme ideas, production of interpretation, artist/lender liaison, transport logistics, and administration. Touring Co-ordinator duties are similar, but will also include guiding and working in collaboration with national touring partners to ensure the successful delivery of the exhibition and the associated engagement project at each space.
During the period of this temporary post NAE will present artists such as John Akomfrah, Zanele Muholi and Akram Zaatari. We will also collaborate with organisations such as Turner Contemporary, Imperial War Museum, London and 14-18 NOW.
