Visitor Experience Manager

The Hepworth Wakefield is an award-winning art gallery in the heart of Yorkshire, set within Wakefield’s historic waterfront overlooking the River Calder. Designed by the acclaimed David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery opened in May 2011. Named after Barbara Hepworth, one of the most important artists of the 20th century who was born and brought up in Wakefield, the gallery presents major exhibitions of the best international modern and contemporary art and has dedicated galleries exploring Hepworth’s art and working process.

The Visitor Experience Manager will be responsible for ensuring that every visitor to the gallery has a great experience, encouraging them to return and become long term supporters. This is an extremely varied role which will involve working collaboratively with all teams to ensure the smooth running of visitor operations, management of the visitor experience team (both staff and volunteers), and driving sales of bookings, membership and guidebooks. You will also be responsible for ensuring that safety, access and security procedures are adhered to across the site.
