Visual Arts Specialist Technical Instructor

St Andrew’s is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist health care for men, women and young people with mental health disorders and acquired brain injury.

We are looking an individual to join our evolving Creative Arts team, to provide an inclusive patient-centred programme of diverse creative visual arts workshops, and events for individuals/groups.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification within the Visual Arts sector, or ideally a minimum of 5 years within the arts industry.  You will have a wide breadth of skill and experience working in both 2D and 3D mediums.

You will help to create, plan and facilitate the visual arts for and with our patients alongside the other arts instructors. You will need to be a self-starter, innovative in your approach and committed to person-centred practice.

You will be a strong team player linking with ward teams, community organisations and building good rapports with all those who use our services.

To support our service users you will need to be flexible in your approach, with evenings and sometimes weekend working hours.

The ideal applicant will be; enthusiastic, have a ‘can do, can help’ attitude, be organised and a creative thinker.  Experience of working face to face with people with a range of challenging needs would be an advantage.
