Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and  motivated Volunteer Coordinator to join us working in the Attenborough Arts Centre.  With over 18 years of experience, our programme offers performance, courses and workshops, contemporary art exhibitions, activities for children and families, and more. We are proud to champion emerging talent and disability-led artists, supporting those starting their careers. Our outstanding access and inclusive work has been recognised, through multiple awards and grants from Arts Council England, BBC Children in Need, Leicester Shire Promotions and Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Our audience has grown to 86,000 people over the last year.  In this role you will be providing support in the establishment and coordination of a pool of volunteers as the Attenborough Arts Centre goes forward with its ambitious, exciting plans for the future. You will rota volunteers across our public spaces, support the Centre with the advertising and recruiting of volunteers and maintain volunteer databases in line with GDPR guidelines. This role is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity working 13 hours per week. The hours of work are Tuesday 1pm till 5pm and Wednesday to Friday 1pm till 4pm. About you

To be successful in this role you’ll have a passion for the arts with a can do attitude and great customer service skills. You will have prior related work experience, ideally of working with volunteers, disability or in an arts setting. You will be flexible and reliable with great interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team and occasionally supervising others. In this role you’ll need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the university.
