Poetry: Five Bodies, 6:30pm, 10 Dec
Inspired by moments of unknowingness, invention and imagination, Five Bodies brings together some of the most outstanding British and international poets to share experiences of contemporary poetry. The series welcomes unexpected ideas, experimental drifts and multiple voices following a long-standing tradition in poetry writing that melds perceiving, knowing and feeling as knowledge-making practices. Five Bodies asks how language invites communion with the sensorial, social, and political bodies and considers ways of relating to one another in the information age. With contributions by Nottingham-based poets, Sarah Jackson, Lila Matsumoto and Vicky Sparrow, along with new readings by Victoria Adukwei Bulley, James Goodwin, Bhanu Kapil, Donika Kelly, Sandeep Parmar, and Nisha Ramayya.

I’m Only Human: premiere and artists’ Q&A, 5:30pm, 10 Dec
Animate Projects
Animate is pleased to announce the online premiere of three new films by Sebastian Buerkner, Kim Noce, and Daksha Patel: animations, made in the context of a pandemic, that explore what it means to be human, taking us from an exploration of the internal body, by way of the perceptive connections between our bodies and the world, to our external, social, lives. The films will be on Instagram and Vimeo from 5pm on 10 December, with a Q&A with the artists on Zoom at 6.30pm. Along with the artists, we’ll be joined in the Q&A by Kim’s editor and composer – Michael Ho and Hutch Demouilpied, and creative coder Chris Ball.
