About
This event brings together partners and community groups for a showcase of archival, archaeological and digital research on the heritage of Nottingham’s caves. We welcome everyone from history and cave enthusiasts to community archaeologists and those living with caves in their properties. As Nottingham prepares for a major redevelopment of the Broad Marsh, this event will explore how the past can shape our visions of the future and the cultural identity of our city through latest collaborative work on Nottingham’s cave sites.
Partners include Trent and Peak Archaeology, City Archaeologist, the British Geological Survey and community history and archaeological societies. This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
