About
Matthew Raw is a ceramic artist who explores the physical and communicative properties of the ceramic tile. He uses textures and language to tell stories of people and place.
As part of his Handicrafts Artist Residency with LU Arts at Loughborough University, Matthew has been commissioned to produce a new public artwork for the façade of the former Art School building in Loughborough town centre (Frederick Street) – now called The Generator.
This event will introduce you to Matthew’s art practice and discuss the project, but he also wants to use it to collect stories and memories from former staff and students who studied/worked in the building, that will help inform the content of his work.
The event will be held on Zoom and is free, but booking is essential.
