About
Create a zine about your relationship with technology.
A zine is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Zines are the product of either a single person or of a very small group, and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation.
In this 2 hour workshop, participants will be introduced to the zine library and have the opportunity to browse the collection of over 150! We have a wide range of styles and subject matter ranges including poetry, photography, illustration, crisps, dogs, sexuality, love, witchcraft, mental health, etc, etc, etc. Come and see for yourself!
The workshop will focus on our relationship and feelings toward technology. This prompt is to provoke reflective writing and collage from participants about topics such as social media, smart devices, streaming services and the internet as a whole and to then reflect on these experiences in our everyday life. During the workshop, participants will choose a way to make their zine: folding, sewing, or stapling. We will then brainstorm ideas together before getting stuck in.
All materials are provided but feel free to bring any materials you would like to use for making your zine. No prior experience is required and we welcome all ability levels!
Oat lattes will be available 🙂
