Surface is delighted to welcome Dave’s World: A Solo Exhibition by Dave Irish.

Dave’s World represents a fifteen-year journey for artist David Irish. Although there is a variety of topics and subject matter, it presents as a cohesive whole, an autobiographical voyage. The topics explored are direct without need of interpretation or understanding of art with all its modern complexities. There is no labyrinth which has to be negotiated. Instead, we get colourful presentations of life, each piece containing both a narrative and a formal concept. The artworks are enjoyable, engaging and playful. accessible. The work speaks for itself. Visit and explore the visual landscape of Dave’s World, you will not be disappointed — more importantly, you may be inspired.   

Artist Talk
Saturday 18th January, 12pm
During the talk, Irish will discuss his idiosyncratic world, the journey he made to get there, the themes explored, and their relationship to his personal experience. The talk is informal and there will be time for questions throughout the tour.

Dave’s World opens in the Project Space in conjunction with the International Postcard Show in the Main Gallery. As always, there will be a donation bar with ales from local brewery, Pheasantry.
