It’s Leicester’s FREE monthly creative family festival Cultural Quarter Earlies this Saturday August 13th, with activities in venues across Leicester’s Cultural Quarter including Curve, Phoenix, Two Queens and Leicester Print Workshop.

Join us at LCB Depot from 12-4pm and express yourself- through drawing, messy collage, in clay, in minecraft and through an interactive game part of Journeys Festival. Plus explore our garden and learn about our Bees!

Feed my Emotions. As part of this year’s Journeys Festival International (12th – 14th August) explore the ideas and themes of coping with emotions in a creative way with “Feed My Emotions” from Explora children’s museum in Rome! Drawing on memories. Spend time drawing your favourite memories or expressing your feelings and thoughts on our memory scroll with our exhibiting artist Kendrick Snodin

Rothko a go go! Out in the courtyard make a giant colourful collage using water and crepe paper (dress for the mess!)

Make in Minecraft. A new realm every month. This month express yourself on a giant scale in Minecraft (Bring your own devices to avoid disappointment) follow @makeinminecraft to keep up to date

BrainArt. Join Ranjit from @brainartuk for his regular workshops exploring science and art with paper and clay

Exploring Bees workshops. From @honeycraftadventures Explore Bees in a print workshop with Sally. Did you know that each bee is different in the hive, and they don’t have yellow stripes? Learn about bees and pollinator plants they like, design your own card to take home. Supported by Arts Council England

Seasons at LCB Depot. @thelittlestorytellers are telling the story of the Seasons at LCB Depot’s garden. Combining the power of creativity and gardening to positively impact children with long term illnesses mental wellbeing, provide access to a green community space and an opportunity to connect with others.
