About

Our Self-Collage Workshop is a free family workshop exploring collage techniques to create a layered image of yourself – piece together pictures, chop up words, add in drawings and choose colours to make artwork all about you. Think about your interests, identity, and likes and dislikes, and include them all in your Self-Collage. The workshop is based at Charnwood Museum, so you can think about objects you’re drawn to or particularly like from the museum that you can add to your multi-layered Self-Collage too. Materials will be provided for the workshop, but please feel free to bring any images, objects or materials that you’d like to add to your collage.

Sessions will run:

10am-11am

11am-12pm

12pm-1pm

Please book tickets for all members of your group, including all adults and children. If you are having difficulty or would like support in completing your booking, please email us, and we’d be happy to help. Please email us at ursula.mpndprojects@gmail.com.

This event will run in compliance with the current COVID government guidelines and restrictions.

Masks should be worn by adults and children over 11 in the space at all times unless you are exempt. If you are showing any of the following symptoms; a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a change to your sense of smell and taste, please cancel your ticket and do not attend this event.

ABOUT ARCHIVE FEVER:

Our Self-Collage Workshop is part of our ‘Archive Fever’ programme. ‘Archive Fever’ is a new four-part project about collecting and collections hosted by Modern Painters, New Decorators, funded by Arts Council England and produced in partnership with Leicestershire Museums Collection. It consists of four solo visual art exhibitions alongside creative workshops for visitors and young people. Joanne Masding, Jagjit Kaur, Dan Cowlam and Katie Schwab will each produce new work in response to the items held in the Leicestershire Museums Collection. The programme will run throughout 2022 at our gallery space in Carillon Court Shopping Centre. Our exhibitions are free and open to the public.
