The first phase in Dr Antoinette’s Burchill’s research for It Takes A Region To Raise An Artist is a survey designed to gather data on the East Midlands visual arts workforce that will help develop a detailed understanding of the sector across the region. The survey focuses on artists, curators and any other visual arts practitioner – asking about their achievements, and the barriers they face in realising their artistic and economic potential and what they think could help them to do that.
