Artist Assistant, Stephen Burke / WERK

Artist Stephen Burke is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic assistant to help with research for an archive project about the former Longbridge Car Factory in Birmingham. The project is part of the wider Longbridge Public Art Project by arts organisation WERK.

WERK have commissioned Stephen to create a digital archive exhibition that will be embedded within the new development of Longbridge to pay homage to the archives that have been collected since the closure of the car factory in 2005.

The work will be a celebration of Longbridge’s heritage and modern history encouraging people to explore the new Town Centre whilst simultaneously experiencing the history of Longbridge through technologically accessible layers of the shifting identity of Longbridge.
