NAE is the biggest gallery in the UK that is dedicated to artists and communities from the Global Majority. This includes exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, festivals, learning and young people initiatives. We are a contemporary Art Gallery in the Heart of Hyson Green, a community just outside the city centre which is culturally rich and vibrant.

We have a newly created position of Head of Neighbourhoods to develop and deliver our community focussed mission going forward. The post holder will lead on the following areas: Community Programme (Community Hub), Community and Civil Society strategic partnerships, Community Festivals (Such as Mela), Young Peoples Programme, School and Public Programme, Fundraising.

You will be an experienced Community practitioner with a real understanding and lived experience of the location and demographics we work with. Ideally you will have at least 3 years’ experience of working with outreach in an arts, education or community setting, support service or community led context or through significant freelance capacity. Project and budget management would also be an asset alongside understanding of evaluation methods and fundraising. You will be required to manage two staff members and oversee a range of freelancers; people management skills and experience are essential.
