Head of Operations & Development

The Head of Operations and Development at NN Contemporary Art is a pivotal new role designed to drive the organisation’s vision and strategic plans at its new home at 24 Guildhall Road. Reporting to the CEO/Artistic Director and overseeing a team including the Finance & Facilities Manager, Gallery Assistants, and Project Assistants, this position entails leading the implementation of NNCA’s programs, strategies, and operational policies. Key responsibilities encompass the organisation’s financial management, building facilities, visitor services, fundraising strategies, and personnel management. The role is integral in managing the capital program leading to the new site’s opening in 2024, ensuring the organisation’s smooth transition and operational efficiency.

In addition to financial oversight, the Head of Operations and Development will spearhead NNCA’s fundraising efforts, preparing and presenting funding applications and managing donor relationships. Strategic planning and collaboration with the CEO are crucial for maximizing income, achieving audience targets, and maintaining a strong organisational profile. The role also involves comprehensive governance, staff management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Essential skills include experience in operational management, strong financial acumen, effective communication, and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in contemporary visual art and be willing to work flexibly, including outside regular office hours.

Hours: 30 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Salary: £32,000 per annum (pro rata from £40,000 FTE), depending on experience.
