Kids art teacher for weekends

We are looking for a dynamic and friendly art teacher for our Art in the Park studio in Derby.

We are based in the picturesque setting of Markeaton Park and have views of the duck pond from our window.

We are a small but friendly team of creative individuals who help each other out and have options for covering holidays etc.

The applicant must be good with children ( aged 7-16 years ) and have the ability to create a fun and inspiring atmosphere.

We have 2 vacancies;

Saturday kids art teacher ( min 18 hrs per month and)

Sunday kids art teacher ( min 4.5 hrs per month )

Both positions could be combined for the right candidate / or if of interest.

The teacher would require previous teaching experience, proof of their high standard of art work and a clean DBS.

The position is running between 2 and 3 classes of up to 12 children consecutively each weekend ( or each month in the case of the Sunday position ).

The right candidate would be expected to generate their own art work in advance of each term of lessons ( artwork is supplied for the beginning of employment). They would also be expected to greet parents of the children and any member of the general public that may make an enquiry in a professional and personable manner.

There may be instances where they would be required to take payment for a class and / or art materials and the register would need to be marked off using an iPad.

It would be an advantage if the candidate had paediatric first aid training and also some understanding and acceptance of Autism and Neurodiversity.
