OPEN CALL: ARTWORK FOR ISSUE #9 OF NO JOBS IN THE ARTS

Open Call For Entries: Artwork for Zine, Issue #9

No Jobs in the Arts are now taking entries for their ninth zine edition; they are seeking existing visual artwork submissions, from early-career creatives currently living, working, making, or studying in the Midlands, UK.

The theme for Issue #9 is Immigration. All submissions to the open call should explore, reflect, expand or document immigration. This could include artwork by creative people with lived experience of immigration, artwork about migration, or work from creatives who have worked with communities that have experienced immigration.

Up to six creatives will be featured and interviewed for the zine – each will be paid a fee of £60.

ELIGIBILITY:

No Jobs in the Arts are seeking submissions of visual art for this open call. They define visual art simply: ‘if we can print any piece of the artwork, we’ll consider including it in the zine’. Submissions are open to early-career creatives. No Jobs in the Arts use no criteria to define what an early-career creative is, so it is up to the creative to decide if submitting to the opportunity is beneficial to them.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Please submit all entries using this link: www.nojobsinthearts.co.uk/projects/issue-9/

Your submission should include:

  1. Up to 3 digital images of your artwork, suitable for inclusion in the zine and relevant to the submission theme – social practice – please remember to include any artwork titles;
  2. A short description of your practice, no more than 30 words;
  3. Basic contact information, and any relevant links, e.g. your Instagram account or website.

DEADLINE:

The deadline for all submissions is 11pm on Monday 17th February 2025.
